Our Mission Statement:

The ACM chapter at University of Virginia's College at Wise is dedicated to furthering computer knowledge to the students of the University of Virginia's College at Wise and to the community of southwest Virginia. This chapter will assist students with various computer related interests to further their knowledge in their chosen field, while also providing assistance to non-Computer Science and Software Engineer students. This chapter will also branch out into the community to generate interest in the field of computers and to improve computer literacy as a whole.

Meetings:

We meet every Friday at 1pm in Darden 220. Our meetings usually consist of either official business (organizing events or projects) or having very interesting guest speakers. We have had many potential UVA-Wise MCS professors as well as well-accomplished people speak about everything from general success and happiness to thinking about graduate school.

Membership:

Please feel more than free to come to a couple meetings as a guest and decide whether you would like to join or not. Even if you are not sure if you will join, try to invite other interested friends. You do not by any means have to be a programmer, MCS student, or even have any computer experience. All that is required to enjoy this club is a thirst for knowledge of electrical technology.

Note: Membership is free for everyone, however, students may apply for ACM membership if they so wish. At least three of the five officers are required to be ACM certified.
